STAGE is a Horizon Europe research project focusing on healthy ageing in European regions. The main objectives are to (i) demonstrate the feasibility of a life-course approach to better understand and prevent ageing with multimorbidity, and (ii) provide transferable person-centered solutions for the diagnosis, treatment and long-term management of multimorbidity.

In collaboration with Amsterdam UMC (AUMC), Inter’Act’s main mission is to build an interactive atlas of healthy ageing, based on a neighbourhood healthy ageing index and iteratively updated thanks to seniors’ participation. This tool will help older people to better understand their territory, and decision-makers to identify territorial priorities in terms of ageing well, at both European and local levels.

First, participatory activities are organized with seniors and their close caregivers to enrich the healthy ageing index proposed by AUMC. This index, initially based on quantitative data, is then supplemented by participants’ experiences and perceptions of the territory.

Second, two Participatory Observatories on Healthy Ageing are set up. In practice, we use participatory methods and tools specially designed to harness the territorial intelligence of older people, enabling the online atlas to be updated beyond the duration of the STAGE project.
